Meal progression

1: content to eat from spoon held by Mommy
2: wants his own spoon
3: "enough with the spoons! Move over lady so I can feed myself "(via hands)
4: "these hands don't work! All the food falls through them! "Face goes into bowl
5: bowl goes on floor (along with remaining food)
6: "ahhhh.....done. Now clean me up wench!"

Slow down please!

Jacob is crawling. He's a mean belly scoocher but can getup on his hands and knees and go too! He is determined to move! Every week when I take him to school he has hit a new milestone. Sitting up. Pulling up. Creeping. Now crawling. So much fun to cheer him on! But oh little buddy, you are growing up so fast!

Addie was content to stretch out the baby stage. She met her milestones on time but not really early. This tugs on my heart strings a little that he is knocking them all out so soon! Wish I could just bottle up all the baby snuggles and toothless grins and shy little head burrowing into my neck then peeking out and smiling...,no camera can capture those feelings! Sigh. The life of an over-sensitive momma.

Freaky Friday (er....Thursday I mean)

Today was dress like Mom and Dad day at school. The teachers dressed like the kids (and some went a little overboard IMO). Jacob was easy. Khakis, polo, done. Addie was so excited to dress like Mom. I helped her select a very cute ensemble of shirt and Capri jeans but then she accessorized! Pearls, bracelets, a headband....oh yes, and a big fat diamond ring. Daddy is going to have to step it up a bit in the jewelry dept! This girl has high expectations :)

I'm working on a post about Easter and our week with my family....so until that's through, here are a few recent pics of my favorite little people!

Little buddy sits himself up!

This is a few weeks old.... I just realized it didnt publish!


Our little guy is growing up! Now he sits himself up. He is a determined little fellow. The first night he did this he wouldn't lay down to go to sleep! Every time I put him down he would sit up again. Yesterday when I picked him up from the church nursery the parent working kept saying how strong he was for a little baby. Strong body and strong mind... Looks like we're going to have a handful as he grows up! He still has the best smile though. It just lights up his whole face. He's getting some new expressions too. One is kind of mischievous and a loving one where he pats my face or hair. I'm just eating this little boy up!

Recent conversations with Addie:

Me: Addie what do you want to be when you grow up?

Addie: I want to be a Mommy just like you! :) :) :)

Scooter: I asked Addie what she wants to be when she grows up and you women have completely domesticated her. Instead of an engineer or doctor she wants to be a mommy! ( can't you be both?)


Addie: Cinderellas stepsisters Anastasia and Drusella went to the ball and the prince saw them but he didn't talk to them and then he saw Cinderella and they got married.

Me: well he thought Cinderella was the most beautiful girl ever and he loved her and wanted to marry her. One day when you are grown up you may meet a boy who thinks you are the most beautiful and smart girl ever and you may get married too...

Addie: no, I'm just going to marrying daddy. He thinks I'm beautiful.

Me: well daddy married mommy so you may have to marry someone else.

Addie: that's ok. He will just marry me instead

Poppy's party

Scooter's dad turned 90 today. How incredible to make it to 90 and still be sound of mind and have family to celebrate with.

On the way to Tuscaloosa we stopped at a rest area for me to feed the baby. I noticed a nice field of tall grass and I've been wanting pics of the kids in that setting. Scooter thought I was nuts, but I ordered everyone out and then spent the rest of the ride editing the great pics that I got! So worth it.

Addie talked the ENTIRE time. My ears are so full of toddler talk.

We ate lunch at cypress inn. I "heart" that place! So yummy.

Happy birthday Poppy! I've now been to his 80th and 90th parties, looking forward to 100 ( and wouldn't put it past him)

Friday funday

This Friday we stuck around the house in the morning and then went for our usual picnic on the park. Before we left, jacob took his nap. And by the way, he is sleeping in his own crib too! Woo hoo! Pack n play graduation :) He's doing so good at napping in his crib during the day. Addie and i made some Easter crafts- shaving cream eggs (really cool and easy, and of course bunnies!) she is very interested in the mail so is looking forward to mailing her bunnies to her grandparents. When jacob woke up he was crying and Addie offered to go play with him. When i went upstairs she was in his crib reading books :) So sweet! At the park, There was a large group of older kids there and Addie wanted so badly to play with them. I had to nudge her over and help her introduce herself and they asked her right away if she wanted to play. She jumped right In And was following them around in the woods looking for "clues" and climbing rocks.....guess my baby's growing up. And in case you couldn't tell I'm a little sensitive about it
